Genetic Link May Explain Why Women See More "Reds"

I came across this piece of research (click on the title of this post to go to the linked article) a couple of years ago when digging into the visible light spectrum for laser level research.
It explains why I can clearly see color shifts in my company's red laser beams and my male colleagues can not.

Ah ha!
So maybe there's a genetic reason why the gardeners in my family can never find a true blue flower -- what some advertise as "blue" looks purple to us!

...and also, perhaps, why Cartier choose red as the dominant color for their site ;-)
